Tonale straddles the pass linking Trento and Lombardy, and is located in the Valcamonica Valley in Lombardy. With Passo Tonale at a height of 1880m, the high altitude normally ensures abundant snow from November to early May. As a back-up to the resort, skiing is guaranteed by the permanent snowfields on the Presena Glacier with the new 8 person gondola affording easy access.
The nursery slopes are amongst some of the best that we have experienced, with an astonishing array of lifts all conveniently laid out and very easily reached. The majority of lifts in this extensive network are chair lifts, enabling the complete beginner to gain reasonable altitude without having to master drag lifts first. |

The skier’s nightmare of long queues is a rarity because of the vast number of lifts, and with well groomed pistes, the area offers a perfect ski resort for school groups.
Our accommodation is located in Passo Tonale itself, in Ponte di Legno and in the small village of Temu, which is 5 minutes from Ponte di Legno. The hotels have a maximum of 4 persons per room; all rooms have full private facilities of shower / bath and toilet, and cater superbly for the requirements of school parties.
The small town of Ponte di Legno is the main centre for après-ski with its ice rink and indoor heated swimming pool.
This complete combination makes Passo Tonale a must for a future school ski course.
